THE BOOKS, PART ONE
Creators sometimes try to document their thought processes. I will be writing a better book on the evolution of Anieth, but here are some old articles that may be of interest. The actual work on this world began in 1987, but it was inspired by a picture book that I did for a class in 1983. The main four characters of this book never really changed much!

THE BOOKS, PART TWO
I had wanted to illustrate the series, but not until my son challenged me to draw a graphic novel did I consider doing the books quite so graphically. I had been interested in layout and making web sites, but was ultimately frustrated with the results. This article talks about my journey in finding a format that worked.

INSPIRATION - 2005 ARTICLE
Most of my work has been in response to the wonderful stories that I knew as a child. I loved illustration and fantasy. My mother had been good enough to give me the entire color Fairy Book series with which I spent hours. The illustrations were amazing. I wanted to do my own books since I was ten. This is some of my inspiration.

SYMBOLISM - 2005 ARTICLE
One of my talents is seeing patterns. For me, most symbolism in Fairy Tales began to be transparent. I was never interested in Christian symbolism, which, for me, seemed a side-track, somehow a misdirection. When I became acquainted with the Golden Dawn writers and their tarot interpretations, I also rejected gnostic and cabalistic symbolism as the "wrong" way. I spent over thirty years coming up with the Western Way. Here is another article about some of that journey.

TRANSPARENT BOOKS:
SYMBOLISM ON THE PAGE
Some of my fans have wanted to see the symbolism in the books. This is an old article trying to do some of that. Be aware that the pictures are large and may not work well on a phone for viewing.

THE TALES & THE TAROT
This is an article on the evolution of the tarot cards that go with the books. Lucia Shields designed a deck to help with the transport of the players' dreams into Anieth. This idea evolved into three different decks. Read about the beginnings of it.

MYTHOLOGY, PLOT, & WRITING FICTION
I wanted to do my doctorate on Fantasy and European mythology. I was shunted out of most departments where they wanted to do American folklore, not European. Here is some of my work on plot and symbolism and European mythology.

TETRA MAGIKA - PASSIVE PAGE
In 2010 we tried to do a game for the iPad that would teach children about mythology and also illustrate the Four-Fold Way of True Magic. This page is the articles from that application. Below are the wonderful animations that were done for the app by Sky. (To get back to these pages from the animation site you must use your browser buttons.)
